Back in 2021, a Texas news station featured Clean Breeze and its inventor, Michael Fultz, in a story about a problem many people know well: mowing a beautiful lawn while dealing with all the dust, pollen, and other airborne debris that comes with it.
A lot has changed since this story aired — but the idea behind Clean Breeze hasn’t.
Michael has continued refining the system based on years of real-world use.
Since this interview:
• The original helmet has been redesigned to be lighter and less bulky.
• The system no longer needs to be connected to your mower or another 12-volt power source. It now has its own portable rechargeable battery.
• And despite those improvements, today’s Clean Breeze system actually costs less than the approximately $300 price quoted in the original story.
What hasn’t changed is the basic idea Michael described in 2021: provide a continuous flow of HEPA-filtered air while you’re mowing and working outdoors.

I live on 40 acres in East Texas. I mow about 5 acres on a regular basis and my ground is mostly sandy loam so even one day after a rain everything is very dry and dusty. I have severe allergies and have tried everything I could think of to deal with the dust. Then I ran across a YouTube video of the Clean Breeze system. I absolutely love love love your Clean Breeze system!
I used to really like to mow – I am one of those strange people
who actually look forward to it.
As I got older I didn’t like it so much.
The heat and dust were stealing my joy.
Coughing, sneezing and eyes full of grit – ugh.
Wearing a mask was hot and annoying and really didn’t help.
Plastic face shields were worthless.
I mow 5 acres and it was getting old fast.
I decided to try your clean breeze out – it is AWESOME!
It works way way better than I had hoped.
That nice little breeze really does keep all the bad stuff out and
helps keep me cooler.
I particularly enjoy having insects bounce off of the face shield
instead of my face and eyes.

Just wanted to let you know the clean breeze mask system works
great. I can now cut my grass without worrying about allergies.
Living in Florida I just about cut my grass year-round, and this
has proved a life saver for me. The only viable alternative would
be to buy a mower with a cab, and this is cost prohibitive for
most of us.
